Nathan Cleverly returned to Twitter for the first time in a month this week with yet another post which had fans worrying for his state of mind.
On the back of several previous tweets, a lot of which made no sense at all, Cleverly has now labelled himself ‘a fraud’ and told his followers ‘he bluffed it’ despite winning a world title on two occasions during his career.
In his latest effort, ‘Clev’ said:”I would like to take this opportunity to apologize to the boxing world. I was a fraud. I’m sorry, I bluffed it.
“Once again, sincere apologies,” before signing off as ‘The former Commonwealth, British, European, WBO and WBA champion.”
The move comes five weeks on from Cleverly’s ‘King of Wales’ activity which already had some either believing the Welshman was feeling under the weather or worse on some sort of drink or drug-fuelled binge.
Either way, and unless Cleverly is having a joke at his fans’ expense, something could be bothering the 31 year-old or he may be struggling to deal with his early retirement.
I WOULD LIKE TO TAKE THIS OPPORTUNITY TO APOLOGISE TO THE BOXING WORLD ….
I WAS A FRAUD. I’M SORRY.
I BLUFFED IT.
ONCE AGAIN, SINCERE APOLOGIES,
-WBO WORLD CHAMPION,
-WBA WORLD CHAMPION.

The Cefn Forest man stepped away from the ring on the back of a loss to Badou Jack in 2017 but many thought Cleverly still had plenty to offer the sport.
A comeback wouldn’t be out of the realms of possibility for the former Frank Warren and Matchroom star, who might be best served taking out his frustrations on one or two more opponents in the future.
Some of the fans’ responses have included; “What is spice like, Clev?”, “Stay off the gear Clev. Not good for you mate and its only Monday,” and “Get some help fella.”
