Marsellos Wilder return pushed back to Garcia v Porter undercard

Wilder took out Jalyn Anthony with a second left in round one on his first appearance and will be looking to keep his KO run going next month.

“Here we go y’all it’s official! On September 8th in Brooklyn, New York I will be fighting on the undercard of Danny Garcia v Shawn Porter, (a fight) for the WBC Welterweight Championship of the World,” announced the younger brother of WBC heavyweight champion Deontay.

“It’s an honor to be a part of such a historic event and I embrace it wholeheartedly. But same mission applied “Pull Up and Take Sum” VICTORY is mine. Alabama Stand Up!

There’s already huge buzz surrounding Marsellos due to the exploits of his older sibling as the elder Wilder recently confirmed the 200 pounder carries the same devastating power.

“‪Just when you thought things couldn’t get any Wilder! My brother Marsellos will have his pro debut in his hometown of Tuscaloosa, Alabama at The River Market,” said ‘The Bronze Bomber’ earlier this year.

“Come support this young man as he starts his own journey of becoming a cruiserweight World Champion.

“P.S. He’s a Wilder so yes he’s blessed with that night night power as well,” he added.

In an interview with WBN back in May, Wilder outlined his ambitions to take it one step at a time and not get carried away with the hype.

“In my position, there’s always going to be a little pressure thrown at me because fans want to see me knock people out like my brother does.

“But I don’t allow pressure to bother me much. I’m kind of use to it now. I’m going to just do me.

“There’s no nerves really, more of excitement to actually live out this moment and be able to be a professional boxer. It’s a vision I saw three years ago and here it is.

“If a life-changing opportunity presents itself you have to take serious attention to the pros and cons of the situation and be smart bout it.

“It’s now about getting more fights and more experience. They are definitely my first steps. I really don’t have a reason to rush my career.”

Originally set for August 24, Wilder’s next outing holds more significance and gives the prospect the chance to show off his skills on a higher profile stage.
