The CompuBox stats released on former British champion Rocky Fielding’s win over Tyron Zeuge show exactly how the Liverpool man executed his gameplan.
‘Rocky from Stocky’ shocked the German on the now ex-title holder’s home soil in Offenburg to become the WBA ‘regular’ ruler and set-up a potential future rematch with rival Callum Smith.
On the contest, CompuBox pointed out the following:
Fielding authors a road shocker as his high-volume attack stuns WBA “regular” super middleweight titlist Tyron Zeuge, then stops him in round five.
An extended volley of blows capped by a hook to the body floored Zeuge, prompting the German’s chief second to throw in the towel.
Fielding nearly doubled Zeuge’s output (327 punches to Zeuge’s 170) as well as his total connects (97-50 overall). Fielding also out-landed Zeuge 18-9 in jabs and 79-41 in power shots while also being the more precise hitter overall (29.7%-29.4%) and in jabs (24%-14%).
Zeuge was more accurate with his power punches (38%-31%), but that is little consolation given the final result. In the final two rounds, Fielding led 63-23 overall and 55-20 power.
