MTK Global is delighted to announce the appointment of Mariana Caballero as Manager of the company’s Latin American Operations.
Top of Caballero’s priority list is to establish an MTK Mexico base in the country famed for producing Chávez, Márquez, Canelo and countless more warriors and ring legends.
With a wealth of experience gained from various roles in the boxing world, the decorated Caballero is ideally placed to lead MTK’s latest global expansion.
Caballero combined an amateur career, in which she was national champion and fought in the world championships, with a business degree from the University of TecMilenio. After hanging up her own gloves, Caballero managed the Mexico Guerreros for three seasons in the World Series of Boxing before AIBA appointed her as Senior Manager of the overall WSB operation.
Now, five years on, she is looking forward to establishing MTK Global as a major force in Latin America.
MTK Global CEO Sandra Vaughan said: “Having a figure of Mariana’s stature on board is a fantastic addition to our ever-growing team. Mexico is one of the most important markets in boxing and it is vital we have the right person leading us there.
“I was impressed by the mark she has already made as a woman in a very male-dominated environment and this appointment continues our approach of signing the best person for each role regardless of gender, background or any other irrelevant consideration.”
Mariana Caballero said: “I have heard so many good things about MTK Global recently but the most important aspect for me is that they put the best interests of their fighters first at all times. As a former boxer, that will always be my chief concern as well.
“I am proud to be part of the team and I am sure that MTK Global will soon be a major force in Latin American boxing.”
