Australian light-heavyweight star Damien Hooper has been remanded in custody by Toowoomba Police for an alleged assault on officers.
During a scuffle at a petrol station, Hooper is accused of brawling with police and using his own child as a human shield in order to avoid arrest, as reported by 7 News Brisbane.
The 26 year-old, who is 14-1 as a professional on the back of a run at the 2012 Olympics in London, is said to be facing a possible custodial sentence.
Hooper breached bail after an incident at a pub before he was eventually taken into custody at the service station. He will appear in front of magistrates soon.
The Queensland boxer last fought in April when defeating former IBO champion Renold Quinlan via ninth round KO and was tipped as a future world title challenger.
