British Lionhearts bid to overturn 3-2 deficit against Kazakhstan tonight

The Astana Arlans lived up to their name once more in the first leg of the semi-finals against the British Lionhearts, delivering a 3-2 win in Sheffield.

Now, the Kazakh team will welcome the Lionhearts in Atyrau City, in front of their fans, hoping to get the necessary points to reach the finals one more time.

It will be the C2 weight category which will close the semi-finals matches as the flyweight (52 kg), lightweight (60 kg), welterweight (69 kg), light heavyweight (81 kg) and super heavyweight (91+ kg) will shine on Saturday night.

The Kazakhs have proven the strength and consistency of their team over the past few seasons, losing only one match this season.

For the second leg of this semifinals, the Arlans will live up to the expectation of the fans, as the squad includes, for instance, Hamburg 2017 World Championships silver medalist, Kamshybek Kunkabayev.

In case of a 3-2 win for British Lionhearts, and therefore an aggregate tie scoreboard, the tiebreaker will see welterweight Arlans’ Ablaikhan Zhussupov, bronze medalist in Hamburg 2017 World Championships, face Lionhearts’ Cyrus Pattinson.
