Former Puerto Rican world champion, Wilfredo “Bazooka” Gomez, has been admitted to a hospital in Cupey, Puerto Rico, due to pneumonia.
Even though he’s in intensive care, he’s stable.
Wilfredo is one of the greatest fighters in the history of Puerto Rico and is a member of the International Boxing Hall of Fame.
He was a super bantamweight, featherweight and super featherweight world champion, compiling a fabulous pro record of 44 wins with 42 knockouts, 3 losses and 1 draw.
The World Boxing Council and its President Mauricio Sulaiman, urge all the boxing community to join and pray for the quick recovery of the legendary Wilfredo.
