Boxing Bites: Vitali Klitschko talks WBC Convention / Shiro ready for Lopez return

Kyiv Mayor and former WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko, has announced that the World Boxing Council Convention there this Fall will rise to a fantastic and memorable zenith.

“Dr Ironfist” said this at a meeting with the WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman, declaring:

“This Fall, Ukraine will for host the 56th World Boxing Council Convention for the first time. I am confident that it’ll reach highest levels of excellence. We are waiting for the arrival of about 700 participants. The Stars of the world boxing will include the Presidents of Federations from the WBC member countries. And…we are preparing a diverse program with formal plus informal communication as well as charitable events.”

Vitali also explained that the Congress will be held at the expense of contributions to the WBC.

Mauricio Sulaiman announces Mike Tyson, Evander Holyfield, Lennox Lewis and many others will come to Kyiv.

“Kyiv is the world capital of sports now, ”enthused the WBC President.

The 56th WBC Convention will be held in Kyiv from September 30 to October 6.

WBC light flyweight champion Ken Shiro (12-0, 6 KOs), will stake his crown against Ganigan Lopez (28-7, 17 KOs) on May 25th at the Ota-City General Gymnasium from Japan.

Ken says he is doing a great training camp because he wants to show all the world that he’s the best flyweight in the world. This pair of warriors clashed May of last year, and it ended with a decision in favor of ken.

Now Ganigan seeks revenge and is confident especially because he originally won the WBC crown in Japan and is determined to recover it, this time around.
