WBC reveal why a Women’s Clean Boxing Program is on hold

The exact date has yet to be formally announced, but Alberto Leon confirmed that there are already talks with WBC President Mauricio Sulaimán, to implement it.

He explains: “An anti-doping program is complicated. The idea is to perfect this program as much as possible before starting the women’s version.”

He explains that due to women’s physiology there are aspects to be considered, and what will make this program different from what currently exists for men.

“I think the idea is to build as we do with the current program, a solid platform and this will have to happen at the right moment.”
