WBC President Mauricio says that the fight between Gennady Golovkin and Saul “Canelo” Alvarez is the one that everyone wants to see, but what happens next will be determined by the Nevada State Athletic Commission.
The Commission will rule on the two failed doping tests, which detected traces of Clenbuterol in Saul’s system.
At the World Boxing Council’s weekly Press Conference Mauricio Sulaiman said: “Hopefully they will review all the information and all of the facts and rule from everything that is available.
“Obviously the fight between GGG and Canelo is the one the World wants ever since the bell sounded finishing their first fight. The WBC has ordered an interim championship, in order to address Jermall Charlo’s position as mandatory. He and Hugo Centeno have accepted the WBC ruling.
“If the Golvokin Vs Alvarez fight is saved for September, they will accept and abide by that. And the mandatory will come into place after that.”
