Former world champion Mexican Pedro Guevara confirms that he will be the next rival of former four division world champion Nicaraguan Román “Chocolatito” González, on May 5 in Las Vegas, Nevada, as part of the card that will be headlined by WBC middleweight champion, the Kazakh Gennady Golovkin.
“Already confirmed, I share with my friends that I will be fighting on May 5 in Las Vegas, against Román González. I feel very motivated, so happy and very grateful for this great opportunity,” said Guevara, on social networks.
Guevara (30-3-1, 17 KOs) is former World Boxing Council light flyweight champion and also has some battles in the flyweight division.
On May 5 he will make his debut in the Super flyweight division, where “Chocolatito” (46-2, 38 KOs) made history by becoming the first four-time champion in the Nicaraguan boxing history.
Román is preparing in Nicaragua and is expected to complete his training camp in Costa Rica, as he had announced.
This will be the return of Gonzalez, after the blistering knockout that he suffered last September from the Thai WBC champion Srisaket Sor Rungvisai.
