Promoter Neil Marsh has decided to make tickets available to local boxing clubs for the Robbie Davies Jnr v Michal Syrowatka rematch this weekend.
On the same night when Anthony Joshua takes on Joseph Parker in a massive heavyweight unification, Liverpool fans have shown their support to the fight by snapping up over one thousand tickets.
In a bid to bulk out the BT Convention Centre and in a thank you to fight supporters, Marsh has revealed plans to give more fans around the city a chance to attend.
“It’s almost a sell-out so I’d like to thank the Liverpool fight fans for their Easter weekend support, as without them it wouldn’t have been possible to bring Michal Syrowatka to Liverpool for the rematch with Robbie Davies Jnr,” Marsh exclusively told World Boxing News.
“Firstly, I’m going to leave 130 of the 230 tickets we have left due to a couple of fighters dropping off the bill on the door for any fans as a first come first serve to be bought on the night, but I’m going to donate 90 tickets in batches of 10 to all the local boxing clubs in Liverpool for kids who can’t afford to go the show. It will give them a chance to support Robbie Davies Jnr in his bid for revenge.
“So for this, I’ll need the lead person for each gym to contact me and the first nine will get 10 tickets each.
“I want a packed house so let’s do this for Robbie. Please follow @neilmarsh3 on Twitter and DM me. It will be on a first come, first served basis.”
A small number of tickets, priced at £40, £60, £80, £100 and £150 (VIP) – plus booking fee – for Barton’s next fight at Liverpool’s BT Convention Centre (The Auditorium) on Saturday 31 March, are available from 0344 8000 400 and the Liverpool Echo Arena website http://www.echoarena.com/whats-on/a-night-of-championship-boxing/
