Dillian Whyte’s demolition of Lucas Browne has earnt him a quote of 4/6 with Betway to face WBC belt holder Deontay Wilder before Anthony Joshua.
AJ, who faces Joseph Parker in Cardiff this weekend, is 6/4 to stand in Wilder’s way before any other boxer, with October being pencilled in by the leading online bookmaker at 7/4.
Betway go 7/2 that boxing fans are made to wait until 2019 for the potential unification fight, while it’s 5/1 for the promoters to rush through a deal and set up a fight before this October.
Betway’s Alan Alger, said: “Setting up big fights like Joshua-Wilder isn’t easy and we think Dillian Whyte is more likely to get a deal over the line first.
“After leaving Lucas Browne on the canvas last weekend, Whyte remains the number one challenger for the WBC belt and we think Whyte-Wilder looks more likely to come before Joshua-Wilder at 4/6.
“Joshua-Wilder has to happen at some point and we go 6/4 for the fight to take place before Whyte has a crack, with October looking the most likely time for the pair to step into the ring at 7/4.”
