Promoter Frank Warren has announced an astonishing list of contests he wants to get over the line in 2018, with some tasty offerings on the table.
Beginning at middleweight, Warren also added a heavyweight clash, one at lightweight and a featherweight barnstormer into the bargain.
Speaking to Steve Lillis on the latest BoxNation podcast, Warren is eyeing huge bouts for the likes of Billy Joe Saunders, Tyson Fury and the winner of Lee Selby v Josh Warrington.
“I’d like to make Billy Joe Saunders against Golovkin or Canelo and I’d like to make Tyson Fury against AJ, it would be a great fight,” Warren stated to the podcast.
On Terry Flanagan, he added: “He wants to fight Lomachenko, who I think is the best fighter out there! He genuinely wants to fight him. (Winning the vacant WBO belt against Maurice Hooker on April 14) makes it easier to make, but it’s a bloody tough fight.
“Then we’ve got the winner of Josh Warrington and Selby (winner) against Carl (Frampton, if he beats Nonito Donaire). They are good fights there that we’re doing our best to make,” said Warren.
Fury is still yet to officially outline a comeback date despite losing a massive amount of weight and seemingly being ready for action.
Saunders has to come through Martin Murray in his double-header with Flanagan’s battle, whilst the featherweight picture will become clearer in the coming months.
