Adam Morallee and Sam Jones have recently announced their partnership in forming a new boxing management business, titled S-Jam Boxing.

Jones manages ’Juggernaut’ Joe Joyce whilst Morallee looks after former two-weight world champion David Haye as his boxing lawyer.

The pair have already made their intentions clear after signing former kickboxing champion Ruqsana Begun. ‘The Warrior Princess’ will make her debut on Channel 5 this weekend alongside Matty Askins defending his Lonsdale belt against Stephen Simmons.

Morallee admitted he never visualized such a role within boxing. Speaking exclusively to World Boxing News, he said: “I’ve been involved with boxing since 1999, starting off working as a very junior lawyer for Frank Warren.

“I was the lowest of the low and they needed someone to help and I’ve been involved ever since then, Acting for Eddie Hearn, the McGuigan’s and many other uk promoters, managers and boxers

“About two or three years ago I was approached to act for David (Haye), we met, had a chat and then started working together.

“David’s got a lot of people around him, he’s an experienced athlete – he doesn’t need anyone to tell him what to do, he just needs very specific services. My role was very specific, to be a boxing lawyer and to negotiate specific contracts with specific promoters and boxers to the best of his advantage.

“I negotiated against Joe Joyce, as David’s lawyer and in the process, I met Sam Jones. Sam was managing Joe and that’s when the conversation started, it wasn’t a business to begin with.

“Since then, Sam has been inundated with boxers that want him to manage them as Sam brings something completely different to me – approachability and an incredible knowledge of boxing.

“In particular he knows the amateur scene, as well as anyone and people, reach out to him, he gets on with people really well. I’ve got a lot of knowledge with the governing bodies, promoters, managers and good relationships with brands. It made sense to join forces and sign the best emerging new talent.

With a free-to-air platform offering from the likes of Channel 5 and Dave, Morallee believes it will help enhance their boxers profiles during the upcoming years.

“There is a sharp line between Hayemaker and S-Jam. Each time we sign a boxer we ask who they want to sign with. I’ve got huge respect for Frank, Eddie and Barry (Mcguigan), incredible practitioners.

“That said, I see the value in David’s offering as it’s free to air. If Begum signed with Eddie she wouldn’t be getting two million people watching her on Saturday night, she’d be on a sky show with a significantly lesser number of people tuning in ; terrestrial builds brands”

And Morallee revealed another signing to the stable is on the horizon: “We will be announcing another signing on Saturday which we are really excited about, someone who can win world titles.

“We don’t want to sign lots of fighters, it’s all about quality over quantity and we want to make these guys can turn into PPV fighters and make sure they are financially secure for when they finish boxing.”
