Fowler, who boxed at the Rio Olympics in 2016, is currently 4-0 in the paid ranks and fights in the super-welterweight class, the same division Brook has just entered.
Brook picked up his first victory since losing his IBF welterweight title to Errol Spence Jr last year and put on a mightily impressive performance in stopping Sergey Rabchenko clinically in two rounds in his debut at 154lb.
Rabchenko is a former sparring partner of the Fowler, and giving his thoughts on the fight in an exclusive interview with World Boxing News, the former Team GB member said: âI was ringside, it was very impressive. Kell looked very sharp, very powerful and he didnât have to show too much, it was too easy for him.
âIâve sparred Rabchenko and heâs a tough lad but I knew he would be there to be hit and that Brook would take him out, he did take him out a lot faster than I thought.â
Whilst Brook got a lot of acclaim for his devastating performance, some observers took the opportunity to denigrate the opposition fighter, but Fowler doesnât see it that way.
âYou canât win, people think just because heâs from a different country â that heâs just been drafted in and heâs a journeyman.
âThe reality is Rabchenko has only lost at the top level and nobody has done what Brook did to him. I thought it was a great statement from Kell, he looked very good.
“Rabchenko is a very good fighter and Brook took him apart, I was very impressed,” he added.

Now that Brook has proven he’s a player in the 154lb division, potential clashes with the incumbent world champions await.
Discussing Brookâs chances of picking up a strap, Fowler said: âItâs early days but I think Brook is the best 154lb at the moment in England.
“I think he should fight a good European fighter, somebody a bit better than Rabchenko and he should be in the mix for world titles then.â
Brook has already been called out by Jermell Charlo, the current WBC champ at the weight, along with former opponent Spence Jr. – who has said he will fight ‘The Special One’ again if he wins a title.
Fowler is in no doubt that Brook has the capabilities necessary to come out victorious against at least one of the current belt holders.
âThe Charlo brother is the main man, plus Jarrett Hurd and people like that, but I think Brook can beat them if he gets a good game plan and his eyes hold up.
“I definitely believe can pick up a world title,â Fowler concluded.
Fowler will be next out on the undercard of Dillian Whyteâs March 24th clash with Lucas Browne at the O2 Arena.
