Eddie Hearn confirms Anthony Joshua desire to fight Deontay Wilder next, but says no 50-50 split

Joshua fights Joseph Parker in a four-belt battle on March 31, four weeks after Wilder defends his WBC title against Luis Ortiz this Saturday night.

Once April kicks in, and provided both remain undefeated, Hearn says Joshua is more than willing to negotiate a massive unification for all the top division marbles.

“Anthony is happy to go into that fight next, Hearn told Sky Sports News before stating the problem would be the purse deal. “Wilder was talking about he wants a 50-50 split. This is ridiculous, we’re going to have three belts, he’s got one.

“He’s doing his thing in America. Now he’s saying that he will take any split, as long as that split is reversed in the rematch. No problem with that. Again, pick up the phone, call me Deontay. It’s very easy, we can get it done over a cup of tea and a slice of cake.

“America is fine. We’ll do two fights. There’s loads of different ways we can do the fight, but let’s just get it made,” he added.

As with Parker, Hearn would potentially offer around 35% of any deal, with Wilder and promoter Lou DiBella then being required to haggle in order to get a fair shake.

Should Wilder be willing to accept 60-40 in favor of Joshua, there will more than likely be an agreement and fans could finally look forward to the biggest heavyweight fight since Mike Tyson fought Lennox Lewis was back in 2002.

With Hearn’s intention to see Joshua given a bigger slice of the pie, the UK would probably have to host first, leaving it all up to Wilder to seal a potentially money-spinning Las Vegas return.

Both encounters would take place on Showtime Pay-Per-View and Sky Box Office respectively.
