DDP promoter Paul Keegan today announced Joe Goodall is scheduled to make his professional debut on the undercard of the Dennis Hogan / Jimmy Kelly event set for April 7 at the Brisbane Convention Centre.

25-year-old ‘Big Bad Joe’ has had a highly decorated amateur career winning Bronze in the Super heavyweight division at the World Championships in Germany last year.

In his first three fights in Hamburg, Goodall beat boxers from Egypt, Ukraine and Russia before dropping a split decision in his semi-final to three-time world champ Magomedrasul Majidov, of Azerbaijan.

This was Australia’s first medal at the world titles in 26 years. Joe is stablemate of WBO Welterweight World Champ Jeff Horn and WBO # 4 super welterweight Dennis Hogan, and is trained by respected coach Glenn Rushton.

He decided to turn professional after drawing inspiration from the Hornet’s big win over Manny Pacquiao.

He is scheduled to face respected heavyweight gatekeeper Filipo Fonoti Masoe who in his 16 fights to date has faced the likes of Solomon Haumono (21-2-2), New Zealander Vaitele Soi (22-0)and taken current Australian Champion Demsey McKean and David Aloua (11-2) the distance.

He has boxed a total of 59 rounds as a professional and will provide Joe with a tough test on debut over 6 rounds.

Promoter Paul Keegan said he was thrilled to have Joe making his debut adding another exciting fight to the event. ‘In all we have 3 heavyweight fights with former world title challenger Alex Leapai continuing on the comeback trail appearing on the card against an opponent to be confirmed in the coming weeks.

We also have local heavy’s Herman Ene Purcell taking on Hunter Sam who will be battling it out for the Queensland State Heavyweight title.
