Canelo trainer explains why Golovkin cannot win the rematch

For this reason, Reynoso is confident Canelo can exploit the weaknesses Golovkin has shown in recent fights and win their highly-anticipated rematch on May 5.

“In every fight, Saul has shown progress, but we believe that Golovkin is always the same fighter and has reached his limit, but Saul is a thinking fighter,” Chepo told Beto Gonzalez.

“Saul causes problems in the ring and I’m positive he will cause problems for Golovkin.

“We can not (mess about with) Golovkin because it is very risky to get hit with the wrong punch.

“But I insist, Golovkin has already reached his limit and as they say in my world – ‘you can’t teach an old dog new tricks’ so I don’t think Golovkin is going to surprise Canelo.

“We will be the ones who will surprise him,” he added.

Golovkin and Canelo lock horns at a venue yet to be decided in the spring, following on from a controversial draw at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas last September.

It’s been revealed that ‘GGG’ is weary of heading back to the boxing capital of the world for fear of a similar decision after apparently doing enough to win the first fight.

New York City is also being considered, but whether Canelo would allow Golovkin to effectively claim home advantage in ‘The Big Apple’ is another thing – as a final decision on the venue draws near.
