In a recent press release, Hennessy Sports confirmed a British title tilt for Hughie Fury against Sam Sexton on May 12 at the Macron Stadium in Bolton.

At the time, the fight was subject to approval from the British Boxing Board of Control, who have now moved to sanction the contest for the date in question.

In further news, Rocky Fielding has decided to relinquish his 168 pound Lonsdale Belt in favour of pushing towards a world title fight in the super-middleweight division.

At super-welterweight, James Metcalf and Asinia Byfield will battle it out for the vacant UK strap at 154 pounds, with a purse bid set for March 14.

Heading up to European level, former British flyweight champion Andrew Selby has been approved to fight Vincent Legrand for the vacant blue belt this spring.

The talented brother of world champion Lee Selby, Andrew has struggled to find opponents domestically and is now ready for an assault on a bigger stage.

Opponent Legrand, 26, gains home advantage for the contest and brings an impressive 26-0, 15 KO record to the table, on paper.
