Jeff Mayweather says Floyd has a chance vs Conor McGregor in MMA rematch

Floyd is set to follow through with a lucrative return fight against McGregor in the octagon having stopped the UFC Champion late on when they met back in August.

Many thought the possibility of Mayweather switching codes would never happen but it now seems an inevitability the soon-to-be 41 year-old will make the move this year.

Mayweather v McGregor 2 is being eyed for the summer in Las Vegas and Jeff believes Floyd can cause an upset if he’s able to stay on his feet and avoid big strikes.

“He has a chance because, first of all, he’s way faster than Conor, he’s way more elusive than Conor, and he punches harder than Conor,” Jeff said on the Mayweather Boxing Channel

“It ain’t about no f***ing shoulder roll, it’s about Floyd using his legs and being smart. If Floyd gets kicked or elbowed or gets kneed, anything like that, of course, the chances are he’s gonna lose.

“If Floyd uses his legs, and I’m talking about to f***king dance around, ain’t no f***king running around,” he continued. “This is part of boxing but MMA fighters do it too. They can’t do it as well as him, and that’s the difference.

“As long as he does that, he gives himself a chance. He gives himself a chance because he keeps it within striking distance. But if Floyd gets taken down, the fight’s gonna be over,” he predicted.

McGregor has avoided any mandatory duties in his UFC capacity due to having the carrot of Mayweather dangling in front of him and talks are said to have already taken place between the pair.

The fighters stand to make nine-figure sums each for a lucrative Pay-Per-View offering that will generate over half a billion dollars in revenue.
