David Haye: I can offer Dereck Chisora more, public need to pressure him to fight Joe Joyce!

Chisora is seemingly stalling on a deal to face Joyce in just his fourth professional fight at The O2, following the Olympic silver medallist’s debut back in October and subsequent fight double lined up in the coming weeks.

Haye, Joyce and Chisora were all pictured talking business recently at the Lawrence Okolie v Isaac Chamberlain, where a handshake had seemingly meant an agreement could be imminent.

‘Del Boy’ is yet to formally confirm his part though and Haye is now considering an improved offer to secure a contract.

“I’ve offered Chisora £80,000 to fight in March against Joe and he straight-up said no – £80k to fight a two-fight novice,” Haye told the South London Press and Mercury.

“This was a couple of weeks back. I probably can rustle up a bit more on the undercard [of Haye’s fight with Tony Bellew on May 5].

“Let’s keep public pressure on Dereck to fight Joe Joyce on May 5, drive him mad. We need to force him to take this fight.

“Dereck Chisora is a well-seasoned campaigner. If he doesn’t fight a 3-0 fighter, although he is an Olympic silver medallist, after coming off a loss then what else are his options.”

Joyce fights on February 16 and March 16 as the 32 year-old pushes his career into overdrive, whilst Chisora has been out of action since losing to European champion Agit Kabayel in November.
