Zach Parker is fighting next on the 17th February on the Groves Eubank card as a reserve and would be catapulted into the main event should either of the headliners get injured.
In an interview with WBN, the undefeated fighter reveals his predictions for the upcoming World Boxing Super Series semi-final.
Groves v Eubank has sold out Manchester Arena and looks set for a great night of boxing with the addition of Parker to the undercard.
Parker is close to getting a British title shot with Rocky Fielding but the publicity of the WBSS is very enticing and the back-up spot means he could potentially fight for a world title.
“I think it’s going to be a close fight but maybe I think Groves, he’s had harder fights and more experience,” Parker exclusively told World Boxing News.
“I wouldn’t turn Eubank down if he would win because he’s got a good engine, but I’m leaning towards Groves,” he added.
When asked if he thought the WBA and IBO title unification would go the distance, Parker replied:
“Groves is a hard puncher because he put Froch down for starters so I don’t know. He could stop him but we’ll have to see when Eubank goes into dark waters and if he gets caught but he ain’t been hurt before. Probably on points.”
Giving his prediction on who takes home the WBSS crown and Muhammad Ali Trophy. Parker stated:
“It will be the winner out of this fight, I think. Callum Smith will beat Braehmer and he’ll fight one of these two, I think the boxing ability will get to Callum Smith.
“Callum looked good in his last fight but when Skoglund was using the jab a lot he troubled him, and these two have a got a good jab. I think the winner out of this fight (Groves vs. Eubank) will go on to win.”
