Usually known for his yellow tie on Sky Sports News’ ‘Transfer Deadline Day’, reporter Jim White has now caused a stir in boxing and MMA.
In his capacity as a talkSPORT radio presenter, White has made a massive claim regarding a possible rematch between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor.
As Mayweather continues to tease a second fight happening inside the octagon, White says he has knowledge of talks and believes the contest will go ahead and be worth $500m between the pair,
“My soundings are that there are a lot of talks going on in the background, there are a lot of talks around people with Mayweather,’ White said on talkSPORT.
“There are a lot of talks about him potentially having an MMA fight with McGregor. McGregor had no chance in a boxing match with Mayweather.
“People will tune in to see Mayweather get stopped by Conor McGregor and it won’t affect his boxing record.
“I think it’s going to happen and I think it will be a three, four, five hundred million dollar fight again,” he added.
Paulie Malignaggi, who sparred McGregor in the build-up to his first clash with Mayweather, exclusively told WBN this week he doesn’t expect the encounter to make it to the cage.
“I just think he’s having fun teasing people because they’re so upset with how he smacked Conor McGregor around the way he did,” ‘The Magic Man’ exclusively told World Boxing News.
“But they’re not going to get him in the cage, he’s teasing them so that he can get their hopes up. I think at the end of the day; the boy knows how to keep himself in the spotlight.”
Aligning with bookmakers at Paddy Power, Mayweather is a massive 15/2 underdog to defeat McGregor should he take the plunge and eventually make a stunning debut in the UFC.
