One fan was so excited about getting tickets to the March 31 clash between Anthony Joshua and Joseph Parker that she tweeted her favorite fighter to relay the joy via social media.
“Got our floor seats Joshua vs Parker tickets (but) more excited about Dillian Whyte being on the undercard,” she said happily.
Soon after, her mistake became apparent when the fighter himself replied back to inform her he was fighting on March 24 at a completely different venue.
“I’m not though, in London (the) week before,” said Whyte, referring to his WBC Silver heavyweight title clash with Lucas Browne.
Other fans were obviously ready to pounce on her mistake and offloaded with a stream of memes to compound her misery.
Whyte is eyeing a big win over undefeated Browne that can catapult him into a WBC title clash with Deontay Wilder in the summer as the Londoner sets his sights on a future rematch with Joshua.
‘The Bodysnatcher’ was stopped in seven rounds by Joshua previously but believes things would be very different second time around.
Opponent Browne is once again in contention on the back of a prolonged absence and heads back to England with ambitions to rule the world for a second time.
‘Big Daddy’ halted Ruslan Chagaev on his greatest night to win the WBA belt, but soon after was accused of doping which he firmly denies.
