Argentinian super lightweight Marcelino Lopez inflicted a twelfth career loss on Breidis Prescott as the contender pushes towards a world title shot.
Lopez dropped Prescott in the fifth round before repeating job and seeing the Colombian stay down for the ten count.
Now 34-2-1, Lopez builds on his stoppage win over Pablo Cesar Cano, whilst Prescott should maybe now contemplate his retirement.
The defeat for Prescott means any chance of a lucrative rematch with Amir Khan is now out of the window for good.
In a featherweight bout, Francisco Esparza upset previously unbeaten Tenochtitlan Nava in the sixth round of a scheduled eight.
Esparza got back in the win column after drawing his last contest but remains undefeated in his own right on 7-0-1 as Nava drops to 7-1.
Following Esparza’s shocker, lightweight Romero Duno took out Yardley Cruz in just one round for a 16th victory.
Francisco Martinez kicked off the action when scoring a six-round unanimous verdict over Danny Flores as the 21 year-old featherweight made it five straight wins in the pro ranks.
Also on the bill, super welterweight Daquan Arnett improved to 17-1 with a triumph of his own against Osbaldo Gonzales, whilst featherweight Ferdinand Kerobyan defeated Lucius Johnson – both over the six round distance.
