Amir Khan to make ‘major announcement’ in London on Wednesday

Khan is all set to reignite his career on the back of a successful stint on ITV show ‘I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here!’ before Christmas and has been linked to a first UK fight since April 2014.

The 31 year-old last fought when badly knocked out by Canelo Alvarez in Las Vegas two years ago and looks set to be back in action around April or May.

Rumors of a potential clash with Adrien Broner have done the rounds this week, although don’t fit the brief laid down by Khan in recent statements – unless the American is planning to travel himself for a debut on British soil.

‘King’ Khan still has ties with Al Haymon’s Premier Boxing Champions, who also represent Broner – making any potential encounter an easy one to make.

It’s expected Khan would at least have a warm-up fight but nothing can be ruled out due to the manner of the Bolton man’s press call stating a ‘major announcement’ is on the way.

Linking up with a major UK promoter, potentially Eddie Hearn could also be on the cards for Khan in preparation for a massive push on home soil in the coming months.

A world title fight opposite Jeff Horn was in the news when Khan travelled to the Aussie’s recent win over Gary Corcoran in Brisbane, whilst a fight with new super-welterweight Kell Brook is definitely off the table for now.

The likes of compatriot Bradley Skeete, a host of former world champions or even old foe Briedis Prescott could potentially come into play for Khan – who has promised his fans a big 2018 on the back of a long absence.
