Undefeated Bernard Roe confirmed for Last Man Standing tournament

Dublin’s Bernard Roe (6-0) will be involved in the competition on March 3rd at The National Stadium that has a lucrative prize fund of 50,000 euro.

Trained by world famous, Paschal Collins, the brother of former world champion, Steve Collins, Roe is amongst the 8 that will battle it out over 3 rounds, as he will look to progress from the quarter finals, semi finals and final, where he will look to collect 25,000 euro and a chance to fight for the Irish middleweight title.

Roe turned to the paid ranks in 2015, and has since had 6 fights, 2 of which came at the back end of 2017. An exciting boxer, he is yet to be beaten, winning all 6 contests impressively.

The show which has captured the imagination of boxing fans and the general public due to the exciting nature will take place on March 3rd at The National Stadium. It will pit together 8 great Irish boxers in a format which will potentially see boxers fight 3 times on the same night.

The star studded line up will be revealed in full on Wednesday 10th of January at 2pm at The National Stadium Dublin. All welcome.

Roe commented ‘‘It is an honour to get the chance to fight in this competition. It is a huge opportunity for me, and I will look to grab it with both hands. The chance to box in a full capacity National Stadium is a dream for me, and the exposure I will get is great.

This will be a very difficult task, but I thrive on big fights, and you will see the best of me when I am in there with someone that has the same level of ambition as myself.

Being from Dublin is a huge bonus, and with all the coverage the competition is getting, I hope to have a lot of support.

Paschal trained Jono Carroll and Luke Keeler for the prizefighter, he has a way of preparing you. I am an unbeaten prospect and I have nothing to lose. It’s a winner takes all competition, and I will give every effort to make sure I am Ireland’s Last Man Standing.’’

Jonathan Graham from Red Corner Promotions added

‘‘The line up we have for this competition is excellent. Roe is the first boxer we are officially announcing, with the rest to be announced next week, at our press conference.

Roe is a serious talent, and on his day can beat anyone. He’ll be involved in some 50/50 fights, and his exciting style is one to watch. He’ll bring a superb crowd from Dublin with him too.’’
