Former youth champion Moises Fuentes will challenge undefeated formidable World Boxing Council flyweight champion Daigo Higa (14-0-0, 14 knockouts), on February 4th in Japan.
“We are training very hard. After my last fight with ‘Ratoncito’ Lara, we rested a couple of weeks, and then back to the gym. We are going to prepare very well, in order to offer a great fight and bring the green and gold belt to Mexico!” pledged Fuentes.
The Mexican said that along with his coach, Alejandro “Pollo” Galindo, he is formulating a smart plan to neutralize the Japanese power puncher.
“Daigo is a strong boxer. We know him and his record speaks for itself. He has real power, but I’m convinced that we have a great chance to win, so we’re very motivated.
“I was WBC World Youth Champion, and I am flattered, happy, and honored to fight for the World Boxing Council belt.
“The all-important green and gold title is at stake. This fight is dedicated to all those who have always supported me and I want to give special thanks to WBC President Mauricio Sulaimán.”
