Two opponents lead the way for Tyson Fury next, Anthony Joshua fight favoured to happen in 2018

RINGSIDE 14/12/2017

Tyson Fury has been given the green light to resume his career and Betway’s odds of 1/2 firmly suggest that he’ll get a shot at Anthony Joshua in 2018.

The self-proclaimed Gypsy King told his Twitter followers that he’s “ready to reclaim the world titles”, and the leading online bookmaker is backing his rhetoric by offering odds of 1/3 for him to win any world title this year.

His first fight of 2018 is tipped to be veteran Shannon Briggs at 5/2, which he is expected to use as a warm-up for title bouts later in the year against the likes of Joshua and Deontay Wilder, who he is evens to face in 2018.

If the mega-fight against Joshua does take place, Betway have AJ as the 4/6 favourite to defeat Fury, who is valued at 6/5 to hand Joshua his first professional defeat.

Betway’s Alan Alger, said: “Tyson Fury looks set to get back into the ring in 2018 and it is clear Anthony Joshua is the one he wants. It may not be Fury’s comeback fight but it’s as short as 1/2 for them to clash at any point next year.

“Shannon Briggs is the early favourite to be Fury’s next opponent at 5/2 ahead of the likes of David Price at 3/1 and Deontay Wilder at 8s, who is another champion Fury will surely be keen to get in the ring with.

“Bearing in mind Fury never lost his titles, and with both Joshua and Wilder firmly in his New Year plans, we are 1/3 for the Gypsy King to regain any world title in 2018.”
