Jeff Horn reportedly drops over eight pounds in 24 hours to make weight
Jeff Horn was close to failing weight for his first welterweight world title fight on Wednesday as the Australian took to the scales on Tuesday.
According to Brisbane journalist Jennifer Huxley, Horn lost FOUR KILOS (8.8lbs) in a 24 hour period as the WBO title-holder struggled to get down to 147 pounds.
Horn weighed bang on the limit as he prepares to face Briton Gary Corcoran at the Convention Centre and gave his thoughts to abc.net in the aftermath.
“I was very relieved. It is always good to get in nice and close to that weight. To not go over it,” Horn told Huxley.
“It can be stressful because 100 grams you can’t get away with. You have to come back with your underpants off or something.”

For his part, Corcoran came in at 146.5 pounds as he bids to dethrone Horn at the first attempt.
Picking up the title in a shock win over Manny Pacquiao over the summer, Horn still has plenty to prove to the doubters ahead of his big fight this week.
Cutting that much weight in the final days can’t have helped him, though. You now have to wonder whether a change in diet or a move up to 154 pounds was needed in 2018.
