Rigondeaux challenges for Lomachenko’s WBO super-featherweight title at the world famous Madison Square Garden and Bellew’s break down is in favor of the belt staying with the champion.
“This is a brilliant fight for the boxing fans, you have one of the hardest men to fight in world boxing in Rigondeaux, going against one of the most complete fighters I’ve ever seen in Lomachenko,” Bellew told Betsafe.
“Both are multiple Olympic and world amateur champions. Rigondeaux is one of the quickest and trickiest fights Lomachenko will ever face.
“His defensive game is the unparalleled but his offensive power will struggle against Lomachenko. Lomachenko has perfect balance, he’s brilliant going forward and brilliant on the back foot.
“Both fighters will have a game plan for each other. Rigondeaux will have an A, B, and C plan.
“If he can pose a threat to Lomachenko early then he might be able to disrupt his flow but he’s going to struggle to keep Lomachenko off him.
“Lomachenko will look to dictate the pace and range of the fight. He’ a much harder hitter, I’m struggling to see Rigondeaux punches affecting Lomachenko.
“There’s only one winner for me, thats Lomachenko. I feel like it’s going to be how long can Rigondeaux keep him at bay.
“Rigondeaux will cause Lomachenko problems but if Lomachenko can box smart and bide his time then he’ll come away with the win.”
