In the latest Commonwealth Boxing Council bulletin, Lenroy Thomas has been informed he will no longer be able to defend his heavyweight title against Dave Allen next.
The pair were set to face-off in a rematch in October until the fight was rescheduled for the December 17 David Haye v Tony Bellew card only for the event to be delayed further.
Due to Commonwealth rules, Thomas must now follow through with a mandatory defence against Canadian Dillon Carman.
The ruling reads as follows:
COMMONWEALTH HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP
Mandatory defence: LENROY THOMAS (Champion, Jamaica) v DILLON CARMAN (Canada)
Following the further postponement of the voluntary defence of the Commonwealth Heavyweight Championship by Champion LENROY THOMAS against DAVID ALLEN, the CBC is now bound to proceed with the ordered mandatory defence against DILLON CARMAN.
Parties have 14 days from the above date to agree terms and forward signed confirmations of agreement to the Hon Secretary.
In the event that voluntary agreement is not possible a date, time and venue will be set for during week commencing 11th December 2017 for submission of purse bids.
Full details of purse bid terms and procedure will be circulated in good time prior to the date of submission.
