Boxing is in mourning once again following the tragic passing of Francisco Ruiz in just his fourth professional contest.
‘Pantera’ suffered his first loss against Ricardo Cortez on November 18 and never recovered after being stopped in the final round of eight.
In a statement released on Friday, the WBC sent their condolences to the family of Ruiz at this sad time.
The World Boxing Council and its President Mauricio Sulaiman Saldivar, express their deepest condolences following the death of Salvadoran boxer Francisco “Pantera” Ruiz.
Ruiz was knocked out in a boxing match that took place in his country. He fell in the eighth round, hit the back of his head and was taken to the hospital, where he remained unconscious until his passing.
All the WBC ask God to give the balm of solace to the family and many friends of Francisco at a time of such deep sorrow
