Pictured: Billy Joe Saunders in serious shape for David Lemieux

Saunders v Lemieux 20/11/2017

Billy Joe Saunders looks in even better shape for David Lemieux than he did before facing Willie Monroe Jr. earlier this year.

In camp for Monroe, whom Saunders defeated on points at Copper Box on September 16, WBN posted a before and after of weight loss by the WBO champion.

It seems Saunders has managed to build on that fitness due to having two training stints back-to-back and now looks in unbelievable shape for his biggest fight since Chris Eubank Jr.

Saunders takes on the big-punching former IBF middleweight title holder on December 16 in Laval, Canada as the 28 year-old continues to chase the winner of the Gennady Golovkin v Canelo Alvarez rematch.

According to Golden Boy President Oscar De La Hoya, Golovkin v Canelo II will go down on May 5 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas following on from their entertaining bout in the fall.

Saunders will certainly want another fight in the first half of 2018 should he successfully fend off the challenge of Lemieux and would be looking at an undisputed blockbuster with GGG or Canelo by the final quarter of next year.

Criticism for a lack of discipline between fights seems a thing of the past as there is no disputing Saunders is highly dedicated when big fights lay on the horizon.

Working sessions with Dominic Ingle in Sheffield has reinvigorated Saunders, who already looks to be ready for whatever Lemieux throws at him at Place Bell.
