Rocky Fielding v Vijender Singh: Frank Warren wins purse bid, sets date of March 31 at Copper Box

Fielding v Singh 16/11/2017

Commonwealth Boxing Council secretary Simon Block has confirmed the result of today’s purse bids for the recently announced title defences.

As WBN reported last month, Rocky Fielding has been ordered to defend his super-middleweight title against Indian superstar Vijender Singh.

As things currently stand, Fielding is pencilled in to fight for the WBC Silver title against Erik Skoglund on the Tony Bellew v David Haye 2 undercard and could still decide to drop the strap and move on from facing Singh as a world championship chance would be closer to being a reality.

Singh would then contest the vacant belt against the next challenger accepted by the CBC.

Fielding’s order was part of a trilogy of contests to be arranged, with fellow Brits Ashley Lane and Jay Harris set for mandatories next year.

Reece Bellotti’s stipulated clash with Felix Williams remains up in the air.

Here’s the list of bids:
