Luis Nery to continue career, fight ten-rounder on Nov 4 ahead of WBC resolution on adverse sample

Luis “Pantera” Nery, the WBC bantamweight title-holder, will reappear on Saturday 4 November at the Estadio Gasmart in Tijuana (home of the Bulls) to fight over 10 rounds against dangerous Filipino Arthur “King” Villanueva in a spectacular boxing evening will be transmitted to national level by the Casa del Boxeo, Azteca 7, and internationally by Bein Sports.

In a press conference on Tuesday in Tijuana, Zanfer, through its President Fernando Beltrán, announced that in order to maintain activity Nery (24-0-0, 18 KOs) wanted to compete in a non-title bout.

“Personally, and on behalf of my company Zanfer, I give thanks to Mauricio Sulaim├ín, president of the World Boxing Council for the opportunity given to Nery to become world champion in the first place. But let’s wait and respect the resolution of the WBC before Nery defends the title,” said Beltran.

“For now, we announce that Nery will face a tough rival Arthur Villanueva in a 10 round bantamweight attraction,” he added.

Nery, himself added: “It ‘s a joy to fight in Tijuana. It was always my dream to fight before my people as world champion and I will get this chance on November 4th. I hope the fans of Tijuana are present at the Gasmart stage as I know I will be able to offer a great fight the public.”

Zanfer also announced that the Tijuana function will be complemented by the participation of local talents as Elvis Torres, as well as the popular “Black Pearl”, Sandra Robles will feature on this historic event for the boxing fans.
