Joshua v Takam: Tale of the Tape / Betting odds for Oct 28

Joshua v Pulev 16/10/2017

Ed Mulholland

On October 28th Anthony Joshua MBE is set to take to the ring again to defend his multiple world titles at the Principality stadium in Cardiff.

He is returning following his incredible fight against former Champion Wladimir Klitschko at Wembley stadium which will go down as one of the fights of the year. Joshua is also an Olympic Gold medallist so has a good boxing amateur pedigree which has certainly helped in his meteoric rise through boxing.

The IBF mandatory challenger Takam steps in as the next opponent for Joshua. Takam has a long amateur and professional background so certainly brings ring experience as an advantage over Joshua. Takam has also had huge success throughout his professional career. In his 39 bouts he has only been beaten on three occasions with two of the recent defeats only coming against top opponents in Parker and Povetkin.

Both fighters have ominous knockout records and are two of the most feared in the division. Joshua has had 19 professional fights and has won by KO/TKO on every occasion meaning a staggering 100% knockout ratio. Takam on the other hand has also achieved victory by KO/TKO in 27 of his 35 victories.

Betfair odds on Joshua v Takam show Joshua as the 1/50 favourite. This means that Joshua will be expected to defend his titles against the 13/1 shot Takam in October and set up a huge clash against another champion in Deontay Wilder.
