Hughie Fury, egged on by Tyson, pushes Joseph Parker at weigh-in

Mandatory challenger Hughie Fury went out of character on Friday afternoon as Tyson’s cousin broke his ice-cool persona for the first time.

Fury, 22, is usually a chilly customer, showing hardly any emotion, although the presence of his former world champion family member may have pushed him over the limit.

Parker vs Fury

Parker and Fury stood toe-to-toe after scaling 245 and 234 pounds, respectively, as they held their nerve for almost two minutes and goaded each other into the bargain.

As Tyson bellowed instructions to Hughie alongside Team Fury members on the sidelines, the younger Fury seemed relatively calm as ‘take his belt’ and ‘nut him’ calls came from the crowd.

Finally, as Parker tried to ease away, Fury snapped and shoved the WBO title holder back, causing a melee between both camps.

Security quickly got things under control, although Team Parker may see Fury’s out-of-character actions as a sign of nerves heading into his first attempt at a world title.

For the New Zealander, a high-profile UK clash is seen as the ticket to more massive bouts on British shores, and with an 11-pound weight advantage, many predict Parker to be the favorite for victory.

Fights with Anthony Joshua and David Haye or Tony Bellew lie in wait for Parker as Fury bids to thwart those plans and become the second bonafide heavyweight ruler from his bloodline.

Earlier, Peter McDonagh and Shayne Singleton came close to blows as the pair took the scales ahead of their grudge match.
