Jason Easton commits long-term future to Barry McGuigan
Cyclone Promotions are delighted to welcome Edinburgh’s undefeated IBO Inter-Continental and Celtic super lightweight champion Jason Easton to the team. The exciting Edinburgh man has signed a long-term promotional agreement with Cyclone Promotions.
Easton will defend his IBO Inter-Continental title on the huge ‘Risk vs Reward’ – Josh Taylor vs Miguel Vazquez bill at the Royal Highland Centre in Edinburgh on Saturday November 11th, live and exclusive on Spike, sponsored by Maxi-Nutrition, Ladbrokes and Voltarol.
Jason Easton is one of the top super lightweight prospects in Britain and Ireland. The all-action Edinburgh fighter is currently ranked #7 in Europe by the EBU and is fast closing in on some big fights. 2018 looks set to be an exciting year for Easton and with this link up with Cyclone Promotions he believes there are some huge opportunities out there on both the domestic and international scene.
“I’m delighted to have signed a long-term deal with Cyclone,” said Easton. “They have developed some of the most exciting boxers in Britain and Ireland. I know I’m with the best team possible to take me to the top.”
Cyclone Promotions founder Barry McGuigan is delighted to welcome Easton to the team. “Jason is a brilliant lad who has proven he can really fight. Last time out on July 8th in Glasgow he was in one the best fights I’ve witnessed in a long time. Jason is learning all of the time and he has a great deal of potential, we are very pleased to have him join the Cyclone team.”
Easton’s manager Billy Nelson concurs with McGuigan. “Jason Easton is a fantastic young man and I’m delighted that he’s signed with Cyclone Promotions. The future looks bright for Jason and I will be working with Cyclone to deliver some big nights for him in the near future.”
Last time out on July 8th Easton was in spectacular form against Belgium’s highly-ranked Steve Jamoye, stopping his more experienced opponent in the ninth-round of an enthralling title fight at Braehead Arena in Glashow. Next up for Easton is a first defence of his recently acquired IBO Inter-Continental title on November 11th at the Royal Highland Centre, against an opponent to be named shortly.
On November 11th at the Royal Highland Centre in Ingliston, Edinburgh, the main event features the undefeated WBC Silver super lightweight champion Josh Taylor in what is truly a big step onto the world stage when he takes on Mexico’s former long-reigning IBF world lightweight champion Miguel Vazquez. It looks set to be a cracking night of championship boxing.
