Former world champion Carl Frampton is eyeing up a possible partnership with Jamie Moore following an acrimonious split with Shane McGuigan.

‘The Jackal’ decided to move on from father Barry’s promotional stable recently, meaning a continuation of his relationaship with son Shane was impossible.

Frampton has decided to control his own career path, but is yet to reveal details of which promotional outfit, if any, the two-weight world title holder will align with.

Speaking about leaving long-time friend McGuigan, Frampton told The Irish News: “It has been difficult. I had a great relationship with all the McGuigans.

“Barry has been a great friend and mentor to me, Shane McGuigan as well – I was at their weddings, they were at my wedding.

“But I just felt it was time for me to develop my career. I had great times with them and I did a lot of good things with them, we had some amazing nights that I’ll never forget.

“But I took a decision that for me to develop my career and get the big fights that I want, I had to move on.

“I want to do my own thing and that’s it, to take my career to the next level I want to move on,” he added.

WBN have now been reliably informed that Frampton is spending a few days in Manchester with Jamie Moore ahead of what could be a future link-up.

The pair will see if anything can develop between them before making an official decision on whether the pieces of their respective jigaws are a fit moving forward.
