Shane McGuigan has removed Carl Frampton from his list of clients following a tempestuous split between the fighter and his father, Barry.

Frampton is branching out on his own due to a disagreement between both parties, which has included severing ties with his long-time coach.

McGuigan has altered his social media bio accordingly to reflect the change as world champion George Groves, Conrad Cummings, Josh Pritchard, Josh Taylor and Chantelle Cameron remain on his books.

WBN understands the Frampton and McGuigan situation, mainly towards the promotional and managerial side, may still have some course to run and could become a messy affair in the future.

‘The Jackal’ is currently scouting around for a new team to handle his affairs and has already been linked to a possible full-time move to Al Haymon’s stable after previously working with the man with close ties to Floyd Mayweather.

Rumours Frank Warren is preparing a huge offer have surfaced, and with Frampton eyeing a Belfast return by the end of the year, the veteran promoter could be a short-term consideration for the two-weight world champion.

Matthew Macklin’s MTK Global are also said to be interested in speaking to Frampton about a deal as ex-handler McGuigan prepares for life without his main asset.

Cyclone Promotions have thrived since inception with Frampton on board as the Northern Irishman firstly conquered Scott Quigg before cracking the American market and will now look to super-lightweight star Josh Taylor to fill the void left by the 30 year-old.
