Jake Best lined up for fight double on Sept 16 and Oct 7

Best, who is trained by Steve Bendall, is fresh off the back off an impressive display at York Hall in July. The Bournemouth star, who has an impressive record of 4 wins and just one single defeat, last featutured in his hometown back in April.

‘I am excited to get back in front of a home crowd, especially with it being on Steve Bendall’s show’.

Best, who has won twice since his surpring defeat, firstly in Southampton and then York Hall, is set for his first 6 round fight on September 16th.

‘Many would feel nervous with increasing the amount of rounds, where as I am even more confident, as I know my training and hard work will show and pay off, as I have always been suited to longer fights’.
Best, who is known to be great ticket seller locally, has a number of opportunities lined up.

‘With thanks to my trainer Steve Bendall, and my manager Kaz Evans of Assassin Boxing, the opportunties given to me have been fantastic. However, I could not be in this position without the support from everyone in the community. My dream is to win a title and bring it back to Bournemouth’.

Meanwhile, Best, who is adamant, he isn’t overlooking any opponents, is eager to showcase his talents across in Ireland, and will feature on the highly anticipated show ‘Champions Elect’, promoted by Red Corner Promotions.

‘I am very excited to fight in a country and city that is famous for boxing and incredible atmosphere’s. Along with the traveling Bournemouth crowd, I hope to have a lot of support on the night’

‘My main focus is on moving to 5 wins in September, then I can look forward to Dublin and showing the Irish fans my fighting ability. First and foremost I want to win, but I always like to entertain and give the fans good value for money’.

On what is a stacked card, featuring three title fights, Best will rub shoulders with the likes of Noel Murphy and Paddy McDonagh, while fellow Assassin Boxing stable mate, Vladimir Belujsky will also feature on the card.

‘The show itself looks excellent. They have 3 title fights already announced, and with the likes of Paddy McDonagh on the bill, I am sure this is going to be a historic night for Irish boxing. Red Corner have done a brilliant job over the past 18 months with rejuvinating Irish boxing, and I am thrilled to be part of this great event’.

‘This period for Jake is vitally important. He has a busy schedue with some exciting fights. He needs to make sure he enjoys every fight, but at the same time, he knows himself, with a few wins over these couple of months, he can push towards that title figh he is longing for’.
