Sam Jones will be back in action on September 16th in Bournemouth on a show promoted by Steve Bendall, at The o2 Academy.
Jones, who has racked up 4 wins in his first 6 months in the paid ranks, was last in action on July 1st, where he defeated the only man to have beaten him, Chris Adaway.
The super-light weight contender has his sights set on title fights in early 2018, and has said he is relishing the step up and longs to improve over the next few months.
‘I want to step up in training. I want tougher fights, I’m looking forward to the next few months, testing myself and pushing myself on’.
Meanwhile, long term trainer, Ty Browne, is eager to see Jones go far in the sport, but also does not want to overload him.
‘I want to get a few more fights in before the end of the year, we will step up to six and eight round fights in due course, and then hopefully next year we will be ready for a title shot’
Sam, who made his hometown debut last month, will be looking for another great turnout in The o2 Academy, after having sold the most tickets for last month’s show.
Browne added ‘We are really looking forward to another great show, put on by Steve Bendall. It is a great opportunity to show our supporters the fruits of all of Sam’s hardwork in the gym, and it also gives us a chance to impress the audience and grow Sam’s fan base’.
Founder of Assassin Boxing, Kaz Evans, added: ‘I am looking forward to an exciting few months for Sam Jones. He is ready to step up in class, and picking up a win on September 16th will put him in a good position to make the move up to six and eight rounders’.
