A fight between Anthony Joshua and Kubrat Pulev in October or November at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium is on the cards, according to bookmakers at Betway.
As the IBF and WBA continue to work on a solution to Joshua’s double mandatory problem involving Luis Ortiz, oddsmakers are favouring the Olympic gold medallist battling the hardened Bulgarian next.

Speaking on Joshua’s next move, Betway’s Alan Alger, said: “While Las Vegas looked like the likely destination for Anthony Joshua v Wladimir Klitschko, Wales is the front-runner for the Pulev fight at 4/6.

“Reports suggest many involved want to see the fight go ahead underneath the Principality Stadium’s roof and the odds indicate planners look set to get their way.

“Vegas is still in the mix at 6/4 and London is 8/1 to host AJ’s fight against the IBF’s mandatory challenger.”

Promoter Eddie Hearn had Vegas in his mind for a potential Joshua v Klitschko rematch until the latter retired, leaving Pulev in Wales as the most sensible option.

It’s now down to the IBF and WBA to discuss the finer detail as Hearn hopes to avoid Joshua being stripped of his WBA crown.
