David Price has announced his comeback after being confirmed on the undercard of Callum Smith v Erik Skoglund at the Echo Arena.
The Olympian took time out to contemplate his next move after a devastating defeat to Christian Hammer in February.
The heavyweight will return to his hometown in Liverpool on September 16 with a new team in place as he looks for a fresh approach.
According to the Liverpool Echo, Price, 34 has parted ways with trainer Dave Coldwell to link up with George Vaughan, Derry Mathews and Joe McNally.
Price will battle Brazlian journeyman Raphael Zumbano Love, who was knocked out early by Anthony Joshua back in 2015 and more recently Alexander Ustinov in May.
The 34 year-old heads into the fight desperate for a victory that could once again place him back on the domestic scene.
Also on the bill, super-middleweight contenders Zach Parker and Luke Blackledge will also feature on the undercard as they commence battle in an eliminator for the Lonsdale belt.
There will also be a local dust-up between Lloyd Campbell and Luke Willis
Smith and Skoglund will open the World Boxing Super Series tournament for the super-middleweight division.
Not only will the winner go into the semi-finals of the knockout competition for the inaugural Muhammad Ali prize, they will also get their hands on the vacant WBC Diamond title.
