The Ukrainian dropped Marriaga in the third before suffering a cut himself in the fourth, but was unfazed as he dominated proceedings to halt the challenger after seven completed rounds.

Lomachenko pushed his record to 9-1 since entering the paid ranks on the back of one of the best amateur records of all time and could now turn his attention to revenge mission against the only man to defeat him – Orlando Salido.

In the co-feature, Ray Beltran overcame a damaged face to overcome Bryan Vasquez and move on to a potential challenge for the WBO lightweight title by 2018.

The hardened Mexican ground out a majority points triumph on the cards after ten punishing rounds with Vasquez, who was also cut in the tenth.

Judges carded 96-94 twice in favor of Beltran with a third seeing it 95-95.
