Chris Eubank Jr. has arrived in the World Boxing Super Series event following what was an impressive victory over Arthur Abraham on Saturday night.
The Brighton man dominated the German at Wembley Arena to book his place opposite Avni Ylidrim in the third Quarter-Final of the lucrative tournament.
Odds for the eight-man bracket have dramatically altered with Eubank’s entry, with Yildrim going out in the betting and ‘Next Gen’ taking a spot behind pre-competition favourites Callum Smith and George Groves.
A win for Eubank against Yildrim will mean a massive all-UK world title clash with Groves in the semi-final stage by early 2018.
Speaking about the changes, Betway’s Alan Alger said: “Chris Eubank Jr. has entered the betting as third favourite at 14/5 to triumph in the inaugural WBSS super-middleweight tournament following his unanimous points win over Arthur Abraham.”
“Eubank Jr. defended his IBO title impressively on Saturday night, but the likes of natural super-middleweights George Groves (2/1) and Callum Smith (13/8 fav) may prove a bridge too far in his bid to lift the Muhammed Ali trophy.”
Smith’s seemingly easier passage against Erik Skoglund and the winner of Juergen Braehmer v Robert Brant sees the Liverpool man as a shoe-in to reach the final in the spring of next year.
