Chris Eubank Jr is targeting a showdown with British rival George Groves as he closes in on entering the World Boxing Super Series knockout tournament.

The 27-year-old is relishing the chance of a domestic dust-up without having to worry about chasing opponents.

“It’s a great opportunity for any fighter, and it gives me the opportunity to fight regularly,” Eubank Jr. exclusively told World Boxing News.

“I can fight the best and not have to worry about fighters dropping and ducking, which is the main thing.

“Groves has the belt. He’s the man on the hit list.”

Eubank is currently preparing to fight on the second PPV show offered by ITV Box-Office, and the Brighton man shared his delight with the channel’s progress since February.

CHRIS EUBANK JR v ARTHUR ABRAHAM

Standing in his way of competing to win the integral Muhammed Ali trophy is a former world champion, Arthur Abraham. Eubank is wary of the Armenian-German threat brings to the table but vows to produce a ruthless performance at the SSE Arena.

“His experience and determination make him a tough competitor. He’s never been stopped in his entire career, those are the things he’s going to be using to try and beat me, but I believe that my youth, hunger, and determination will be too much for him.

“I’m here to make statements. I don’t want to step in and do the bare minimum. I don’t want this man to see the twelfth round.

“It’s a privilege to be the flagship fighter for this brand-new platform. For this fight, they’ve ramped things up in the way they have promoted it,” he added.

Chris Eubank Jr v Abraham airs on ITV Box-Office at the SSE Arena, Wembley, July 15.
