Faded performance sees Manny Pacquiao hit P4P freefall

The 38 year-old, as well as losing his world title, struggled to deal with a fighter not recognised as one of the best in the division and subsequently slipped into the second half of the WBN Top 50.

It’s the first time since his devastating loss to Juan Manuel Marquez in 2012 that Pacquiao has dropped out of the top 20 and the fighting legend would need to beat one of the welterweights around him in order to re-enter the top 10 in the future.

Pacquiao’s opponent Horn barely makes it into the top 50 with his somewhat hollow victory, whilst those hovering in the later stages of the top 10 all get a placings boost due to Pacquiao’s demise.

The ‘Pacman’ had enjoyed two years at the summit between 2010 and 2011 before two defeats pushed him back, but amazingly reclaimed top stop five years later by winning the welterweight crown against Jessie Vargas in November 2016.

Just days later though, Andre Ward overhauled the eight-weight world champion who now finds himself languishing in 26th position as the Senator contemplates his next move.
